Yenda Producers is in the south west of NSW in the small town of Yenda (population 1,060) and was incorporated as a Co-operative on 24th July 1925.
The combination of the development of the Yenda area as a fledgling irrigation scheme coupled with the returned soldiers from WWI saw the need for these new farmers to work collaboratively to survive. Thus, Yenda Producers Co-operative (YPC) was formed to provide a stronger platform for both purchasing farming inputs and as a marketer of produce.
Today, YPC operates in a radius of approximately 100km, has 4 branches and around 1,480 members. The Co-op itself employs 51 F/T staff and has joint venture projects in agricultural related businesses including – Stock and Station Agents, Irrigation Design and Installation, Grain Accumulation and Marketing. These venture businesses employ a further 35 local staff.
