Board Director ID Numbers – Do Co-operative Directors Need Them?
Under Federal legislation coming into force at the end of November 2022, all directors of corporate entities registered federally (e.g. companies) will need to apply for a director ID.
However, as state and territory registered entities, this new system does not apply to directors of co-operatives. The only exception to this rule is the rare circumstance that the co-op is also a “registered Australian body” with ASIC and has an Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN).
